Version 3 Migration

Slipmat v3 is a completely new site, but every v2 account is archived here and waiting to be picked up. Your v2 password does not work on v3 — you always pick a new one during migration.

Any email address that was on your v2 account works, not only the one you used to log in with.

Migrating Your v2 Account

  1. Go to Log In and try your email and password. Slipmat recognises the email as a v2 account and offers to send you a migration link. (The Reset Password page does the same thing.)
  2. Click Send me the link, then open the email from Slipmat and click the link inside. The link works for 3 days, and you can send it again from the same page.
  3. The page greets you by your v2 name and shows when you joined. Pick a username — your v2 username is filled in for you — and set a new password.
  4. Click Create Account. You're logged in and taken to your account page.

Signing in with Google or Apple skips all of this: if the email matches your v2 account, your account is migrated on the spot. Slipmat then asks you to set a password before you continue.

What Comes With You

  • Your original join date, so your Slipmat history stays intact
  • Your display name, real name, country, and time zone
  • Your v2 profile photo, used as your avatar until you upload a new one
  • Your v2 artist profile, if you had one

Already Made a v3 Account?

If you signed up on v3 before migrating, connect your v2 account from your profile:

  1. Open your profile page and click Connect a previous Slipmat account.
  2. Enter the email address of your v2 account and click Send claim link.
  3. Open the email and click the link, then click Claim. This link also works for 3 days.

The link only works for the account that requested it, and a v2 account can be claimed once. If it's already connected somewhere, Slipmat tells you and nothing changes.

Migrating Your Artist Profile

If your v2 account had an artist profile, an Artist tab appears after migration.

  1. Open the Artist section. Slipmat shows you what it's about to build.
  2. Click Create My Artist Profile. It takes a moment while your v2 data is crunched.

You get an artist profile with your v2 name and address, your artist photo and default event photo, your time zone, your most used tags, and an analysis of when you usually stream. Slipmat also generates a new streaming key and your artist chat channel. Your v2 streaming key is not carried over — take the new one from the Streaming page.

Your archived v2 Events stay on the site either way, and they show up on your artist page once it exists.

Refresh your artwork

Slipmat v2 launched in 2016, so a lot of artist photos and default event photos are many years old by now. Upload fresh ones — good visuals make your Events look their best.

Having Problems?

  • No email? Check your spam folder, then use the Send it again button.
  • Link expired? Start over from the login page; a new link is sent right away.
  • Can't remember which email you used? Try any address you ever had on v2 — they all work.
  • Still stuck? Ask on our Discord. (Discord is run by another company, separate from Slipmat.)
