Version 3 Migration

Your account from the old Slipmat (v2) waits for you. Your v2 password does not work on v3, so you set a new one when you migrate. Any email address that was on your v2 account works.

Migrating your v2 user account is very simple; you can do it in a minute.

  1. On Log In, enter your v2 email and any password, then click Send me the link. Reset Password sends the same link.
  2. Click the link in the email. It works for 3 days.
  3. Choose a username and a new password, then click Create Account.

If you sign in with Google or Apple and the email matches your v2 account, Slipmat migrates your account immediately and then asks you to set a password.

You keep your join date, display name, real name, country, time zone, and your v2 photo until you upload a new one.

  1. On your account profile, click Connect a previous Slipmat account.
  2. Enter your v2 email and click Send claim link.
  3. Click the link in the email, then click Claim. The link works for 3 days.

You can claim a v2 account only once.

The technical migration of your artist profile is simple and fast, but set aside some time for proper promo photos, social links and other things in your profile, and of course your stream key. The whole process can be done in 10 minutes, including reading these docs.

First, open Artist and click Create My Artist Profile. Your new artist gets your v2 name, slug, photos and time zone, your most used tags, and an analysis of when you usually stream. Your archived v2 events show in your Artist Dashboard under Legacy Events and on your public page just like before, only nicer. Check your artist profile and make sure that everything is up to date and correct: some of this data might be a decade old!

Last, set up your new stream key: the v2 key does not work. Do a fast soundcheck. It also makes you familiar with the new v3 stream controls.

  • Your stream is no longer controlled from the live page. The Stream Dashboard replaces it. It is much more powerful and easy to use, and has useful features like Glance Mode.
  • You need to connect your Stripe account to enable tipping. This is now a modern and fully automated integration.
  • In v3 one user can belong to many artists and artists can have multiple members.
  • The old v2 site sat unchanged for years while we built v3. The new site evolves extremely fast: we push out new features and fixes weekly. The full list of features is extremely long, so take some time to look for new tools that help your workflows. They are built especially for artists like you!
